PRAYING TOGETHER
21 Day Prayer Partner
For Lent this year we are inviting everyone to partner with someone for 21 days of prayer. We would love for everyone to have an answer to this question:
Who is your prayer partner?
WHO - We encourage you to partner with someone you consider to be a good friend - someone you trust. It can be your spouse, a good friend at church, someone at work, or even in another town. Parents - you might even consider partnering with your kids. If you need a partner - you can sign up for one here.
WHAT - Create some time together (anywhere from a few minutes… to maybe 30min-1hr over coffee) and pray for each other, for someone else, as the Spirit leads you, with our church, closing with the Lord’s Prayer. (More on this below.)
WHEN - We encourage a ‘very doable’ rhythm of meeting 2 times a week for the 21 days. If you can meet more frequently than that great! But start with this very attainable goal.
WHY - New steps take us to new places.
The Basics
What Do We Pray For?
Each Other. Find something that each person wants to focus on for the 21 days. What is your one prayer? Pray about it when you get together and separately throughout the week.
Someone Else. How can you bless someone else by praying over them and for them?
As the Holy Spirit Leads. Create some room to pray as the Spirit leads. Listen first - and pray as you sense His leading.
With the Church. For our Lent prayer partnership this year we are praying for the opportunity to meet 40 people in the Baton Rouge area, who are not connected with our church, who need God, and baptize them into the Kingdom here at the Vineyard.
Closing in the Lord’s Prayer. Pray through the Lord’s Prayer together slowly. This will allow each of you to connect with God and the Global Church as you participate in the prayer Jesus modeled. Below you’ll find a PDF we’ve created to help you use the Lord’s Prayer as a reflective meditation to deepen your connection with God and your prayer partner.
